Escape & Eat for MS
Sunday, May 27, 12pm - 05pm, Central Park Bandshell (behind Music Centre), 2311 New St, Burlington. Canada has the highest rate of multiple sclerosis in the world - MS is Canada's disease. Join us to learn more about MS while fundraising to support research and local programs and services that are offered to those living with MS and their families. Join us for delicious food from local food trucks 50 Pesos, Salted Pig & Olympic Softee Ice Cream Truck, & test yourself in the Mission Possible portable escape room! Special guests & vendors include Burlington Mayor Rick Goldring, Burlington Councillor Marianne Meed Ward, Melissa from iDream Travel, Burlington Able Sail, & Lindsay from doTERRA. At 1pm, Marianne Meed Ward will address the audience, followed by Mayor Rick Goldring. At 2pm, Melissa from iDream Travel will address guests to discuss accessible travel. Melissa's husband lives with MS and is familiar with the special requests and needs that those living with MS would prefer while travelling, including ensuring you have the appropriate travel insurance. MC services are being donated by Hub of the Hammer Event Planning. There will also be music from Fresh 95.3's Street Team, children’s activities with 9Round Kickboxing Burlington & MS volunteers (arts & crafts), Burlington's antique fire truck, contests for kids & adults, & more! Burloak Relay For Life 2018

Relay For Life Burloak is a 12 hour festival-like fundraising event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, where team members take turns walking around a track. Carassauga Festival of Cultures
May 25 to May 27, various cultural and community centres within Mississauga. Carassauga Festival is a 3-day family friendly multicultural event showcasing over 50 countries at different pavilion locations throughout Mississauga. Travel the world without leaving the city. In each pavilion, you will find ethnic foods, entertainment, culture of the country you are visiting and vendors. Admission cost is only $10 for an advance Carassauga passport or $12 at the door. The 7th Annual Spring Awakes!
Sunday May 27, 1:15pm - 4:24pm, 2 Rivers Festival - Orchard Park Parking Lot, Ignatius Jesuit Centre - 5420 Hwy 6 N, Guelph. A Performance Arts Hike Adventure to Benefit Ignatius Old Growth Forest. With a magical mix of nature and imagination, artists will create site-specific music, dance, and poetry encounters amongst the budding trees and trout lilies, the singing birds and the rushing river, all in reverence of spring. Join us for this guided walk through the woods – full of surprises. All funds raised directly support ongoing ecological restoration and the long-term vision of fostering an Old Growth Forest right here in our community along the shores of the Speed River. Please wear sturdy footwear, bring a hat, water and sunscreen. Please bring food to share at the Pot Luck Picnic which crowns the afternoon adventure. This is a Rain or Shine event. *Note: Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance at Janus Books (10 Paisley St.) or Loyola House (Ignatius Jesuit Centre). Children accompianed by adults are admitted free and must be able to hike with a group. Host Organization: SKSS Productions in support of the Old Growth Forest. Accessibity - Please be aware this location is not fully accessible. Hikers will be bused from Orchard Park to the forest and back.
