A Tribute to Oscar Peterson

Wednesday, September 10, 2003
Living Arts Centre - 4141 Living Arts Drive
A celebration of Canadian jazz legend, Oscar Peterson, the Mississauga Living Arts Centre is proud to salute his artistry by bringing together on one stage for one night a distinguished line-up of performers to salute the man and his music. Cool sounds and hot rhythms will fill the theatre courtesy of these musicians and vocalists: Russell Malone, Benny Green, Renee Rosnes, Clark Terry, Dave Young, Phil Nimmons, Carol Welsman, Jeff Hamilton and Monty Alexander. The night will also highlight a collection of memorable music, a video perspective highlighting Mr. Peterson's six-decade career. This night will also include the presentation of the first arts bursary in Mr. Peterson's name and of his choosing, in the amount of $10,000 for two resident young artists ($5,000 each).
