Niagara Glen Hiking |
May 26, Niagara Glen - 3050 Niagara Parkway Niagara Falls. The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), in partnership with the Friends of the Niagara Glen, are pleased to announce a ‘‘Spring in the Niagara Glen’‘ nature program featuring guided hiking tours on Saturday, May 26. The tours will begin at 11am and 2pm and visitors are invited to join the guided hikes into the magnificent Niagara Glen to search for blooms of elusive rare and unique spring wildflowers (ephemerals) along with the return of local birds and other wildlife. Spring ephemerals, such as Red and White Trilliums, Wild Columbine, and Dutchman’s Breeches, are only in bloom for a short period of time each spring. From week to week, the variety of blooming wildflowers is constantly changing so you never know what you may see. Guided hikes last approximately one to one and a half hours and require proper footwear suitable for rugged terrain. There will be plenty of photo opportunities and visitors are reminded to stay on marked trails and to abide by the ‘‘leave no trace’‘ principle while in the Niagara Glen. Hikes will be starting from the Niagara Glen Nature Centre which will be open that day. The Niagara Glen Nature Centre is located at 3050 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, right across from the Whirlpool Public Golf Course. NPC is committed to a vision of Ontario’s Niagara Parks as one that Preserves a rich heritage, Conserves natural wonders, and Inspires people world-wide. Founded in 1885, The Niagara Parks Commission is an Operational Enterprise Agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Its mission is to protect the natural and cultural heritage along the Niagara River for the enjoyment of visitors while maintaining financial self-sufficiency. The Rat Pack
|
May 29, Show Time - 6:15pm Dinner / 7:30pm, Greg Frewin Theatre - 5781 Ellen Avenue Niagara Falls. Direct from Las Vegas - a tribute like no other! This powerful 90 minute show captures the look and feel of the times, features the best Rat Pack tribute artists, and co-mingles the comic banter, songs and entertainment in the same way the original cast performed it. This tribute production will take you back to the 1960s where fun, humor, intimacy and great music captivated audiences at the Sands Hotel, in Americas most popular entertainment playground. The show includes many of the popular songs made famous by these legends such as My Way, That’s Life, New York New York and King of the Road. Relive the heyday where audiences found fun in the antics of three cool, politically incorrect legends. They showed us that acting a little chauvinistic wasn't so bad as long as you did it with style, baby. So grab a drink and enjoy the most swingin' show in town.
